UND Chairman Çetin Nuhoğlu addressed the sector representatives and said that; “For years we have designed the future of this sector together. Above all, today, there is a platform combined to each other despite everything, still in close relationship with each other, with a UND framework on which to take the next steps and the one who created this platform is you.”
Indicating that in the last 5-6 years, there was a period of non-economic priority because of the extraordinary circumstances in our country; Nuhoğlu said that in the next 4 years, a period that will focus only on the economy will be started.
“The Sector Bringing the Highest Amount of Foreign Currency to Turkey after Tourism”
Indicating that; “We have many problems, many problems and a lot of work to do”, Nuhoğlu underlined that they do not want to stay behind in the competition and logistics is not only a sector that affects and determines the country's performance, and continued by saying that; “This is the most important issue in all parts of the public sector, including the development plan, including the Presidency. Because we're not just talking about exports of goods. As a service exporter, we bring foreign currency to our country by our own efforts without importing anything. The foreign exchange we bring is 18 billion dollars. This is the sector bringing the highest amount of foreign currency to turkey after tourism. And this comes as a result of a strategy developed by the sector to provide a $ 50 billion foreign currency return in 2022. That's why I've been in this industry for 42 years and I'm proud of it for 42 years.
“Competition under Equal Conditions is the Hope of Humanity's Future”
Stating that the problems experienced at the gates and the problems experienced in visa processes are the basis of commercial protectionism, Nuhoğlu said that; “For the first time in the last 50 years, the growth of countries has been below the growth of global trade. Everybody has retired into the shells, started to protect themselves. This is not the right method. All citizens, all people around the world may lose as a result of this. Globalization and competition under equal conditions is the hope of humanity's future.”
Nuhoğlu pointed out the importance of domestic production by saying that, “Today, there are Ford Trucks among us and they do production with a 90 percent of locality rate. Turkish engineers did this and this was selected as “The Truck of the Year in Europe”. Today, this product travels all over the world. We are proud of the fact that Ford Trucks reached this level. As one of my friends said -yes this time, we succeeded!” and he also pointed out the success of THY (Turkish Technic) as a national brand.
Indicating that İlker Aycı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THY,has achieved important successes and therefore they want him to be the head of the HIB, Nuhoğlu said that; “Until today, we have done very important things to carry our problems to Ankara with TOBB, and we still do. Now the difference of the service exporters shall be spread to all regions via HİB.”
“Iftar Dinner Hosted Two Great Award Ceremonies”
2018 Professional Driver Awards, held in cooperation with the International Transporters Association (UND) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU), were granted to their owners. Namık Enkin Bizel, chosen as the Driver of the Year, working in Alışan Logistics, received the award from Çetin Nuhoğlu and İlker Aycı.
In addition, the IRU Road Transport Company Top Manager Award was also granted at that night. Top Managers received their awards from Halim Mete and Çetin Nuhoğlu.
